Categories

In LearnCenter, Categories can be thought of as folders in which you keep related items. You can use Categories to help you and other Administrators organize and manage various LearnCenter items, such as enrollments, ILT sessions, classes, assignments, assessment-related items, skills, and job profiles.

As your use of LearnCenter increases, so will the number of items contained within your LearnCenter. By assigning items to Categories, you make them easier for you and other Admins to locate and manage. Throughout LearnCenter there are search filters that enable you to locate or sort items by Category.

You can assign most items to Categories when you add or edit the items. You can also assign items to Categories from the Categories menu, as described in this chapter.

It is a good idea to set up Categories early in the process of setting up your LearnCenter. You must add Categories first before you can map items to them.

Examples:

There are many ways to categorize your LearnCenter items. Some examples include:

The following User Permissions are required for this feature:

All Categories in the LearnCenter are displayed on this page. In the Filters section you can use the Status drop-down list to filter the list by Active, Inactive, or Both (both Active and Inactive) Categories. You can also paginate the page to show more or fewer results by selecting a number from the Pagination drop-down list. In the Filters section you can also:

In the Categories section of the page, if there is a  next to a Category, click it to expand a list of sub Categories. Additional action icons display in the Actions column (or depending on how your LearnCenter is set up, when you rest your pointer on an item in the list).

The Image column displays the image selected for the Category if one has been assigned. If an image has not been assigned to the Category, the default image displays in the column instead.
