Scheduling Bulk Loader

Bulk Loader enables you to create scheduled data loads. This feature is particularly useful if you want to load data from third party training sites on a regular basis (for example: you can take data from third party web-based training completions, or third party badge readers from ILT sessions and attach that information to Enrollments). Once scheduled, LearnCenter will pick up a file from your SFTP site to begin processing them during the timeframes you indicate.

It’s a best practice to create a sub-folder for each schedule on your SFTP site. The loader will pick up all files in the folder and run them when the schedule executes. If the folder is not present or has been deleted, the administrator with the SFTP permission can simply re-add the folder.

Note: The Loader will remove the source file from the SFTP when the schedule executes and place it in the results table.

To create a new schedule, do the following. On the Control Panel:

  1. Click on the Integrations menu to expand it.
  2. Click Bulk Loader.
  3. Click the Schedule tab.

  1. Type a Name for the schedule.
  2. Select the Type of item you want to schedule for bulk loading.
  3. Select the appropriate SFTP Folder from the drop-down list. There is a now Bulk Loader folder under the Uploads folder on your SFTP site. The SFTP file path is upload/bulkloader. Access your SFTP site, create a sub folder, and place the files you want to schedule here.

  4. Select the check boxes next to the days you want the Bulk Loader to perform the process in the Days to Run section.
  5. Use the drop-down lists to select the Start Time and indicate whether it is am or pm by selecting the appropriate option button.
  6. Click Add Schedule. The schedule is added to the bottom of the page.

You can edit ( ), delete ( ), or change the status of a schedule (by using the check box and the Change Status icon). When a schedule is active, the icon displays in the Status column. When a schedule is inactive, the Status column is blank.

No SFTP Folder

When the scheduler runs, it looks for a bulkloader folder under uploads in your Learn SFTP site.If the folder is not present or has been deleted, the following message displays.

The administrator with the SFTP permission can simply re-add the folder on the SFTP site, and then you can run the scheduler again.
