Course Completion Requirements

You can use Bulk Loader to manage AICC, SCORM, and LearnCenter Course Completions. The Course Completion Loader expects the following items to be preexisting to create or update User completion records

Matching Process for Course Completions to Users

 

  1. Find the Course: The Course Completion Loader uses two levels of matching to find an existing Course to update User’s completions to. This was done to allow for the possibility of duplicate Course names in the LearnCenter.

  1. Find the User and Completions: After the loader has found the existing Course in the LearnCenter, it will then Look for the User and then determine if the User has a current completion that is being updated.
Web Based Training Multiple Attempts. The loader will honor the Multiple Attempts setting for your LearnCenter. If Multiple Attempts is not active and an existing Course completion is found, the Loader will not create a new completion, and will skip the record and output to the results file.

Course Type

Accepted Values

The Course Completion loader will create or update User completion records for the following Course types:

  • AICC = AICC Course
  • SCORM = SCORM Course
  • LearnCenter = LearnCenter (WYSIWYG) Course
  • Document= Document Course
 
  • Example: AICC
  • Example: SCORM
  • Example: Document
   
Classes are not supported for loading completions.

Course Name

Accepted Values

Any Value up to 1000 characters in length.

Course ID

Accepted Values The LearnCenter System generated Course ID.
  • Example: 6287
The Course ID is the Primary Identifier to find existing Course to map Users completion records to.
The Course ID can be retrieved using BI Reporting and running the standard Course List Report. In the report add the Course ID, this is the system generated Course ID to add to the data file.

Username

Any Value up to 100 characters in length.

Course Started Date

Accepted Values

The Date and Time format must be posted in the mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm AM/PM in 15 minute intervals format.

  • mm = Two digit month dd = Two digit Day yyyy = Four digit Year
  • hh = Two digit hour mm = Two digit minute AM or PM
  • The date will appear based on the system setting
 
  • Example: 01/02/2015 08:00 AM
  • Example: 09/17/2015 12:00 AM
   
The Course Start Date is an identifier field used when updating Users existing Course completions.
Users Current can be retrieved using BI Reporting and running the standard Course Report. In the report we recommend adding the Course Type, Course Name, Course ID, Username, Course Started Date, and Course Completed Date. With these values you will have the User’s current Course completion that you can add to your date file to update.

Course Completed Date

Time Zone

Accepted Values
  • A time zone posted in the LearnCenter format.
  • The Time Zone is used for the Users Start and Completion Date and Time
  • The time zone will appear based on the system setting
 
  • Example: Eastern Standard Time

Course Percent Completed

  • Yes, if you intend to create an incomplete attempt of a course for a user and will not be populating the completed date.
  • No, if you intend to create only completed course records with a completion date.
The Course percent completed.
Accepted Values
  • Any numeric value to two decimal places.
  • If their Course has a Completion Date the Percent complete is set to 100.
 
  • Example: 100
  • Example: 33.33
   
If Course Percent Completed is unpopulated for started Courses, no error displays to indicate that the record was not inserted.  

Course Score

9 I No The Course score .
Accepted Values
  • Any numeric value to two decimal places.
  • If their Course has a Completion Date the Percent complete is set to 100.
 

  • Example: 100
  • Example: 33.33

   

Pages Viewed

10 J No Sets the number of pages that Users have viewed for the Document Course.
Accepted Values
  • Any numeric value of 1 to 99999
  • Supports Document Course created from the Content Manager only
 
  • Example: 1
  • Example: 623
   
Supports Document Course created from the Content Manager only.

Time in Course

11 K No Set the number of pages that Users have viewed for the Document Course.
Accepted Values
  • Any numeric value to two decimal places
  • If there Course score
 
  • Example: 00:10:00
  • Example: 02:15:45
   
Applies to Document Courses created using the Content Manager.

The User time in Course can be greater then the minimum required for Course Completion.
